Allan Rosenberg

The Reverend Dr. Allan Rosenberg Passed away February 20, 2021 at his home. Born July 8, 1926 in NY, NY. He was the only son of his father and mother, Samuel and Blanche Rosenberg, Austrian and Yugoslavian immigrants respectively. He served in the Army with the 66th Infantry Division in Europe during WWII. It was in the post war years that he converted to Christianity, ironically after reading the Bible his mother had been too polite to refuse from door to door evangelists. He attended Montclair State College where he met his wife Elizabeth. They married in 1960. Their honeymoon was spent moving across the country to California where he attended graduate school. He received his Ph.D. from the California Graduate School of Theology. He initially served at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Glendora, but in 1972 was called to the San Bernardino Christian and Missionary Alliance on Evans Street where he served until his death. He relished being a connector of people and the only friend he did not make was the person whom he had not yet met. His love for Elizabeth, the church and Christ knew no bounds. Alan and Elizabeth loved and nurtured each other and, together, lovingly ministered to the San Bernardino congregation until she was called home in 2010. Alan continued to serve his congregation and San Bernardino, including through his organization of the National Day of Prayer until his death. Although we will miss his friendly voice and loving smile, Alan would remind us that we can always feel his loving presence with us through Christ.
