Bernard Smith

Bernie was a Korean War Veteran, an active member of the VFW, a 3rd & 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Officer, Elks Lodge Chaplain, and St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church parishioner (Eucharistic Minister, Lector, fiesta organizer, and helped build Y.E.S. Center). He also contributed to St. James and Notre Dame Catholic Schools. Bernie is survived by his wife of 65 Years, Rita Ann Purnell, and their 12 children: Terry (Valarie), Barbara, Tim (Jennifer), Jim (Joni), Chris (Sue), Paul (Renai), Jeanne (Bob), Tom, Therese (Dan), Michael (Julia), Robert (Melissa), Kathy (Jerry), and by 46 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, and his brothers Jerry (Shari) and Steve (Cindy) and sisters Joan, Mary, and Marlene. He has joined his parents Francis Smith and Helen Pfeifer, son Angel Robert Francis, grandson Mathew, sister Donna and brother Jim.
