Christopher Garcia
August 24, 1931 – November 29, 2021 On Monday, November 29, 2021, Christopher Avila Garcia, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 90. Chris was born on August 24, 1931 in Redlands, CA to Chris and Carmen (Avila) Garcia. He graduated from Redlands High School in 1948. Chris retired as an Instrument Aircraft supervisor at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 30 years retiring in 1981 as a Master Sergeant. He then started a landscape business, “June Bug” beautifing many yards throughout the city. He loved his country and displayed an American flag at his doorstep everyday. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July where you could find him at the U of R stadium watching the 4th of July festivites. Chris with his deceased wife, Lupe A. Garcia had three children: Francine Bush (Terry), Phoenix AZ; Rosann Rigney (Jeff), Lake Arrowhead, CA; and Chris Garcia (Linda), Redlands, CA. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Dora Robles, Novato, CA and Christine Chavez, Riverside, CA and predeceased by brothers Al and Robert Garcia. In 2017, Chris married Teresa Ramos from Redlands. They shared many wonderful experiences together. He leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends from this marriage.
