Donald Leroy Prescott Sr.

July 17, 1939 – February 1, 2023 Donald Leroy Prescott, Sr., age 83, of Chino, California, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Newport, Rhode Island to Ralph and Amelia Prescott and grew up in Long Beach, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1962. Don met Jackie at North American Aviation in Downey, CA and they were married in 1960. They went on to have 13 children. Don was a Chino resident for 38 years. In 1989, Don founded an asphalt paving company, Premier Paving, Inc., which is still a thriving company run by his children today. Don converted to Catholicism in 1994 and was a parishioner at Saint Margaret Mary Church in Chino for 29 years. In his retirement he enjoyed his cars, hunting and fishing with his boys, cruising Lake Mohave on his boat, as well as spending time with Jackie and the family at his vacation home in Bullhead City, AZ. Don especially loved Bishop Amat and Chino High football, but was always the number one fan of any team his children and grandchildren were playing on, which also included Chino Hills High, Ayala High, Norco High, Roosevelt High, and Damien High. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Ralph Prescott, and his infant granddaughter, Haley Renay Prescott. He is survived by his brother Richard Prescott, his loving wife of 62 years, Jackie, their 13 children – Donald Jr. (Teri), Suzanne Guccione (Mark), Michael (Yvonne), Kathleen Lanathoua (Gilbert), Stephen (DeAnna), Patrick (Ryan), Jeffrey (Renay), Christopher (Janet), Timothy (Pam), Daniel (Andrea), Mark (Jennifer), James (Des), and Nicole Cabildo (Francis), 44 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Together with his wife Jackie, Don helped to create a large and loving family who respected and adored him. A life well-lived with love, strength, integrity and generosity. He was not only a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, but also a friend and mentor to many. He will be greatly missed.
