Donald Wilson

December 24, 1921 – April 13, 2022 Donald Dean Wilson died April 13, 2022 in Moreno Valley, CA. Born in Lincoln, NE on Dec. 24, 1921 and moved to Riverside, CA in 1922. He attended Poly High School in Riverside. His junior year he was all CBL quarterback. He graduated in 1940. He attended Riverside Junior College. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Drew in 1942. He entered the service, Nov. 1942. He served in the Infantry 80th Div. 3rd Army. Wounded in the Battle of Metz, he was honorably discharged on Dec. 1945. He was a Post Commander and honorary Life Member of Riverside Post 79, American Legion. He was member of the Post’s Drum and Bugle Corp., Post’s 21st Div., Com. of American Legion and Post Chef de Gar of 40 & 8 Voiture 394, Post 79 Color Guard Memorial Honor Detail at Riverside National Cemetery, performing twice a month. He retired from the Co. Veteran’s Service Office in 1983 as Senior Veterans Representative. His survivors are his sons, Michael, Barry and Maury.
