Leo Goodenough

April 13, 1959 – December 17, 2021 Leo Duane Goodenough, age 62 of San Dimas, Ca., died Dec. 17, 2021, at home. A service will be Tuesday, March 15th at 11:00 am at the Riverside National Cemetery. He was born in Downey, Ca. on April 13, 1959. He served in the U.S. Army for 11 years and 3 months. He separated from the Army with the rank of Sergeant. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, 3 Bronze Service Stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. After separating from the Army, he served with the United Nations in Kenya, Rwanda, and Haiti until 1999. Leo was a kind soul with a penchant for storytelling. He was an avid reader and music lover. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson. He loved dogs and always seemed to have one of his pups by his side. He was father to Raymond, Crystal, Todd, and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his father, Major William Goodenough, and his sister, Kathleen Helen Ortega. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Goodenough of Haugan, Montana; his brother, Mike Goodenough (Roberta) of Henderson, Nevada; his sister, Patricia Lightfoot (Douglas) of Northport, Alabama; dear friends Ali Baker and Scott Baker; and by many nieces and nephews.
