Mack Mitchell

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, Mack G. Mitchell, husband, father and long-time resident of Redlands, CA passed away at the age of 84 following a debilitating illness. Mack was born on June 21, 1937 in Riverside, CA to Clarence and Doris Mitchell. He graduated from Polytechnic High School, Riverside, CA in 1955. He also proudly served in the United States Army as a mechanic for a MASH unit for 2 years from June 21, 1957 to June 11, 1959, and the United States Navy as a Medical Corpsman from August 8, 1959 to August 7, 1963. After leaving the military, Mack met Christine B. Kellogg in Riverside, CA while she was attending the University of California Riverside. They were married on March 30, 1968 amd became residents of Redlands that same year. Mack was hired as a Firefighter by Redlands Fire Department in 1969 and later promoted to Engineer. He retired as an Arson Investigator in 1982. In addition to his numerous other skills, Mack was an experienced welder and owned his own welding business. He made several wrought-iron fences for residents throughout the city of Redlands and beyond. He had an avid interest in military history and restored military Cushman vehicles after he retired. Mack is survived by his wife, Christine Mitchell, children Lori Mitchell/Lasanti and Ed Mitchell, his grandaughter Teresa Lisanti and numerous nieces, nephews and several grandnieces and nephews. His brother Charles Mitchell, sister Aileen Walters predeceased him.
