Mariano Bautista

Our father, Mariano, 92, passed away on March 29, 2021. He was a native of Colton, CA, where he was raised and graduated from Colton High School. After graduating, he became an auto machinist. Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Julie Magdaleno in October 1951, and they went on to raise four children. He had a 31-year career in civil service as a certified jet engine mechanic at several military bases and he also had a stint at USPS. After retiring, he and Julie moved to Reno and lived there until her passing in 2011. He returned to the Colton area and spent the last four and a half years at Linda Valley Villa in Loma Linda. He thrived there and made many friendships with the residents and staff. Our parents traveled extensively visiting: Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean, and Mexico. They enjoyed many cruises and several trips to Hawaii. He was a big San Francisco 49er’s fan and followed the San Francisco Giants. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing their favorite sports. He is survived by his sons: David, (Peggy), Dan (Rosie), daughters Debra and Denise, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters Clara, Jennie, Lupe, Angie and brothers, Joe and Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents Mariano Sr. and Juana, and his sisters Lorrie and Felipa.
