Merrill Farris

“A joy and a happiness!” is how Merrill Ferris greeted everyone and he died as gently as he lived. He transitioned peacefully and without pain, surrounded by family and friends on June 8, 2018. He had cancer for many years and fought valiantly using homeopathic medicine. He attended Norte Vista High School, class of ’65, and was a Vietnam vet with the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was known to his community as a wise and inspirational man, a healer and an expert in reading the Mayan Calendar. He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Ferris, who was a PE teacher at Norte Vista and still lives in Riverside; his sister, Colleen Fain (Richard); his brother, Kelly Ferris and many cousins, nieces and a nephew.
