Norbert Holscher

Norbert, 82, of Riverside, CA, passed away on December 19, 2021, at his home with loved ones by his side. He was born December 10, 1939, in Eden, New York and came to California in 1950. He graduated 1957 in Fullerton. He enlisted in the Navy the same year. Norbert is survived by his wife Sue of 10 years, 3 sisters, 2 daughters, 3 sons, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, bonus family of 2 daughters, 1 son, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 2 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by Kathryn Holscher, his wife of 39 years. Family was very important to Norbert and brought him much joy. His final retirement was 2011 from Western Mortgage Company. Norbert and Sue loved traveling, especially taking cruises and road trips. Through his 49 years in Riverside he dedicated himself to many organizations within the community. He was very proud to pass the Notary test at age 79. Norbert was a platelet donor. He reached 56 gallons. He enjoyed learning about Riverside’s history. He was a docent at the Mission Inn. Norbert worked the elections since 2017. Norbert was a dedicated member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for many years and served this community faithfully. He was head usher, also was active in many groups. He organized many fundraisers for the church and school. Norbert was a bereavement minister who presided over graveside services, a celebration of life. Norbert had a beautiful, selfless heart and was always willing to help wherever he was needed. He was a consummate jokester, who loved to be known by the nickname "Trouble." Norbert could always be counted on to put a smile on your face. Norbert will be deeply missed.
