Norman Edgmon
Norman Russell (“Hoss”) Edgmon “kicked the bucket” on Sept. 18, 2022, at his assisted living home in La Quinta, CA. He was 91 years old and died of natural causes while surrounded by his children and others who loved him dearly. Born in 1930 to Homer and Bessie Edgmon in Byars, Oklahoma, he had an adventurous childhood in that small hick town and loved to entertain with stories of all the characters who lived there. Norman graduated from college in 1952, then served in the Navy during the Korean War. He began teaching, eventually earning a Master’s from Oklahoma University and has been a lifetime fan of OU football. He was an exceptional teacher, spending 40 years working for the PSUSD. For many of those years he taught special education and undoubtedly had a positive impact on many young lives. He was an animal lover and always had a dog-friend nearby- animals and children adored him! He will always be remembered for his silly humor, his kindness towards loved ones, as well as strangers. He is survived by daughters Shari Edgmon, Robbi Knudson, Lisa Talley, five beloved grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his adorable and beloved wife of 60 years, Martha Mae Edgmon.
