Philip J. Bonanno
Philip J. Bonanno Lt. (Ret.) SBSO Phil entered this world in Queens, N.Y. on May 11, 1933, the son of Felix and Hedwig Bonanno. He departed (no doubt for a ball game) on Feb. 26, 2023. Phil leaves to face the world without him, his wife, friend and life partner, Carolyn. He leaves his children Pat Beld (Gregg), Pam Bonanno and Philip Bonanno (Kim) and step-children Dutch Rader and Kristi Rader. All of the grandkids, Alex, Felicia, John, Amanda, Lani and Garrett will truly miss him. Great grandkids, Philip Bunton and Saige Brew will miss out on Phil’s love, but can know they were always in his heart as well as his special friend, Cliff Brew. Phil was a ball-player, coach, baseball and football lover and officiated both games to the college level. He retired as a Sheriff’s lieutenant with SBSD, was co-owner of PC Investigations working two of the highest profile homicides in southeast Oklahoma. He was a horse lover, gym rat and all-around likable guy. Phil had such a big heart that he had room for all of his law enforcement friends, fellow officials, friends, neighbors, family and the troll under the bridge. He was extremely proud of his military service and credits the U.S. Navy for turning a 17 year old miscreant into a man. He served during the Korean war and has numerous battle ribbons mostly from his time aboard the USS Princeton and the USS Baroco. A devoted catholic, Phil did not attend a church, but prayed nightly for those he loved, for himself and for the world. This world is diminished by the loss of Phil. He will be missed. See you on the other side.
