Phillip Greenberg
In loving memory of me, Philip “Harvey” Greenberg, who did his best to be a beloved Husband, Father, Son, Husband (again), Brother, Husband, (yes…again), Pop-Pop, Hus- (well…you get the idea).
I was born in Philadelphia…served my country in the Navy…moved to California…sold a joke to Phyllis Diller…played a lot of tennis…had five wonderful children who I loved very much (one clearly more than the others – you know which one you are)…enjoyed being around my six amazing grandchildren…and was blessed to have Pam by my side for the last 15 to 20 years, depending on who you ask.
My business endeavors ranged from tools, to flowers, to strip clubs…only one of which I was passionate about. God, how I loved those tools.
One of my greatest joys was making others laugh – to entertain – which I was able to do in dozens of shows I put on over the years. Unfortunately, I was not gifted with a beautiful singing voice, so I surrounded myself with others who were. Except Dennis. You were always out of tune. I didn’t have the heart to tell you till now.
I have two regrets in life. One: that I didn’t discover Popeyes’ chicken sandwich earlier. Two: I wish I had been a little more comfortable saying, “I love you” to those around me, something that came easier later in life. So don’t be stingy with those words – they’re free and have more value than any others.
