Age 96, passed away on May 25, 2018 at St. Bernadine’s Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. He was born on May 6, 1922 in Troy, NY and had lived in Banning, CA for 30 years, previously in Vestal, NY for 14 years, Ontario, CA for 7 years and Cincinnati, OH for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Corridor. He was the Human Resources Manager for General Electric. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Boy Scouts of America, Gilman Ranch, Square Dancing Clubs, and enjoyed world travel, family reunions, gardening and camping. Bill’s goal as a young adult: “I always thought I would meet my dream girl, get married and have a family. This all came true beginning in 1940.”
Bill’s advice in life was, “Always maintain the strength of family. Maintain a sound body and open mind. Develop friends and maintain these friendships forever.”
Bill is survived by his wife Lois Deans of Banning, CA; son Keith Deans and his wife Dr. Jeanne Gratiot of Ada, Michigan; son Kevin Deans and his wife Lisa of Summerfield, NC; son Doug Deans and his wife Jolyn of Banning, CA; daughter Laurie O’Leary and her husband Bill of Whitefish, MT; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Elizabeth Deans of Watervliet, NY and sister Lois Deans of Watervliet, NY.
