William Downing
William “Bill” Downing left this world to meet his higher power on Oct. 13, 2022.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years Irene Downing, his son Vincent Downing and his wife April Downing; his daughter Debra Ledbetter and her husband Ronald Ledbetter; his sister Barb Mc Kee; and his mother-in-law Etta Clark.
He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Perry and Ruth Downing, and his younger brother Rodney Downing.
He spent 20 years in the Air Force working on C130’s as a Crew Chief; he eventually transitioned to a Heavy Equipment Operator prior to his retirement. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 27 years at Omya in Lucerne Valley, and Amboy. He loved working on his classic Mopar’s, Motorcycles, and enjoyed listening to music his favorite artist being Waylon Jennings.
