William (Bill) Sirowy, age 74, passed away at his home in Redlands, August 24, 2018. Bill was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Harold and Geraldine Sirowy. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and a Masters Degree in Adult Education. Bill served in the US Air Force during the 1960’s. Bill spent most of his career coordinating county 4-H Programs in Iowa and California, retiring in 1997. From there, he started a second career managing the Senior Employment Program for San Bernardino County, from which he retired in 2007.
Bill was an avid fan of all college sports, especially football and basketball. He was a staunch supporter of “his boys” at Iowa State and routinely returned to Iowa to watch games and support his team.
Bill enjoyed woodworking and was a master at Intarsia wood mosaics. He also enjoyed spending hours in his garden growing all types of fruits and vegetables. “Sirowy Acres” will never be the same without his green thumb.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother Geraldine and his brother, Ron Sirowy. Bill is survived by his father Harold Sirowy, wife Jeffree Sirowy, sons Scott and Kyle Sirowy, daughter Christa Thomas (Taylor), and his sister, Linda Gibbons of Ventura. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and the many friends that he made over the years also survive Bill.
